Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using GoldPrices.app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GoldPrices.app ("the Service", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of the Service
GoldPrices.app is a free, reference-only gold price platform. It aggregates publicly available gold spot price and currency exchange rate data to display indicative bullion-equivalent gold prices across 24+ countries and 7 karat grades, in English and Arabic.
The Service includes:
- Live and historical gold price estimates
- A karat and weight calculator
- A gold tracker and price alerts
- A shop and market directory
- Educational guides and market insights
GoldPrices.app is a reference and education tool only. It is not a trading platform, brokerage, financial advisor, or dealer in precious metals.
3. Price Disclaimer & No Financial Advice
All gold prices and currency conversions displayed are estimates only. They are calculated from third-party data sources (gold-api.com, open.er-api.com) that may contain errors, delays, or inaccuracies. Prices represent theoretical bullion-equivalent values and do not reflect actual retail, wholesale, or trade prices available from any specific dealer, exchange, or institution.
Nothing on this Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or Islamic scholarly advice. Past gold price performance does not guarantee future results. Gold is a volatile asset — its value can fall as well as rise.
Always verify prices with a licensed gold dealer or financial institution before executing any transaction. Consult a qualified financial advisor for investment decisions. For Zakat calculations, consult a qualified Islamic scholar.
4. Data Sources & Accuracy
We source gold price data from gold-api.com and currency exchange rates from open.er-api.com. The UAE Dirham (AED) is always calculated using the fixed official peg of 3.6725 USD/AED, regardless of the FX API response.
We make no warranty that data is real-time, complete, accurate, or suitable for any purpose. Data may be delayed, cached, or sourced from fallback storage. The Service displays freshness indicators where possible, but these are informational only.
For full details of our calculation methodology, see the Data Sources & Methodology page.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service at a rate that adversely impacts availability for other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the Service to make financial decisions for third parties without proper disclosure that prices are estimates
- Redistribute or resell the price data without attribution and with a clear disclaimer that values are estimates
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
6. Intellectual Property
The Service's design, code, text, and original content are the property of GoldPrices.app. The underlying gold and FX data belong to their respective third-party providers. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute material from the Service without written permission, except where explicitly stated.
User-facing tools (calculator, tracker, weight converter, Zakat calculator) are provided for personal, non-commercial reference use. Embedding of widgets is permitted under the conditions described in the embed documentation.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GoldPrices.app, its operators, contributors, and data providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to losses resulting from reliance on displayed prices.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be indicated prominently. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
